Family-Friendly Tile Ornament Workshop

The mosaics at the Magic Gardens Museum contain many special ceramics. PMG founding artist Isaiah Zagar makes ceramic “doily tiles” by pressing lace into clay, which he colors with glaze. He also adds his own images, designs, and words on donated tiles.

In this workshop, participants will choose and decorate two ceramic forms (choose from a variety of tiles and ornaments) and glaze a doily tile ornament inspired by Isaiah. We will fire these unique pieces in our kiln, turning them into enduring keepsakes or gifts.

Ornaments will be fired and ready for pickup at the Museum by December 12.
