Kidchella Music Festival

Smith Memorial Playground, in partnership with Wawa Welcome America, is thrilled to announce our Kidchella Music Festival, all while kicking off the celebration of our 125th Anniversary! This year, Kidchella will be a FREE, one-day summer festival featuring four dynamic, family-friendly musical artists and other family fun. From art stations, mouthwatering treats, exciting giveaways, community partner tables, and delightful pre-show activities to a stunning main concert. Kidchella offers something special for everyone to enjoy!

City Love is a West Philly-based social justice music and education group that uses songs to spread love, hope, dialogue, justice, and healing.

Ill Doots is a talented musical collective known for their genre-defying music and high-energy live performances. Their name, which stands for “I Love Living & I Love Learning,” reflects their passion for using personal experiences of curiosity and learning to create transformative art.

Philadelphia Youth Tap (PYT) ignites creativity by blending rich musical rhythms with global dance traditions and American history, dedicated to nurturing the dance visionaries of the future.

Alex & the Kaleidoscope Emmy Award-winning interactive music entertainment brand that inspires children to learn through the power of songs.

Johnny Shortcake is a charming children’s musical that is fun for the whole family. Themed around celebrating silliness, the show features soul music for children, teaches important life lessons, and feels like one big disco party.
