PECO Family Jams: Found Object Assemblage
September 13 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free – $15
When you visit the Magic Gardens Museum you will find many names in the mosaics. When Isaiah Zagar created the Magic Gardens he included the names of artists who inspired him. Many of these artists also built large immersive Art Environments. Like Isaiah, most of these artists used salvaged materials and discarded objects. Instead of seeing these objects as trash, they saw creative possibilities. Some of them used glass bottles, old windows, tinfoil, or broken plates. Some of them used old toys, seashells, wood scraps, or cement. Come discover the shapes and colors of everyday objects and make a piece of art to take home.
Learn more about the artists who inspired Isaiah during free tours of our fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 p.m.
PECO Family Jams are the Magic Gardens’ family-oriented programs held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 p.m. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission.
