Survival Week at British Swim School
March 17, 2025 - March 23, 2025

Survival Week at British Swim School is a specialized event that emphasizes essential water survival skills beyond regular swimming lessons. It typically occurs at scheduled intervals throughout the year and is designed to reinforce safety techniques that can help swimmers stay afloat and self-rescue in real-life emergency situations.
Key Features of Survival Week:
Clothes-on Swimming – Students practice swimming while wearing clothes to simulate real-life accidental falls into water. This helps them experience the additional weight and resistance caused by wet clothing.
Self-Rescue Techniques – Focus on survival floating, back floating, rolling over in the water, and getting to safety without panicking.
Treading Water & Endurance – Students practice treading water to build strength and learn how to conserve energy.
Safe Water Exits – Training on how to reach the pool edge, climb out safely, or call for help.
Safety Awareness – Instructors teach children and parents about water safety rules, emergency responses, and the importance of supervision around water.
Survival Week is an important initiative that aligns with British Swim School’s mission of ensuring “Survival of the Littlest” by promoting water safety and drowning prevention. It provides hands-on experience and helps students become more confident and prepared in case of an emergency.
